Following its successful 'sell-out' launch in 2012, the Moor 2 Sea Sportive returns to Exeter Racecourse Conference Centre on Saturday 7th September 2013. This awesome cycle challenge takes in some of Deven's finest cycling areas, including: Haldon Forest, Dartmoor National Park, Teign Valley, and the stunning South West Coast.
This year the Moor 2 Sea offers you a choice of three new routes: The 'Inspire' (60 km / 37 miles), The 'Challenge' (104 km / 65 miles) and for the serious endurance cyclists, the 'Extreme' (180 km / 112 miles). Full details of these routes are available on our website www.moor2sea.com.
The Challenge & Extreme routes both include a 'King of the Mountains' timed stage, providing an additional 'challenge within a challenge'. This year's KoM stage will be Haytor, using the same iconic climb where John Tiernan-Locke secured his KoM victory in the 2011 Tour of Britain and where this year's ToB stage 6 will finish. There is a much coveted KoM Medal Pin that is awarded to anyone who can conquer this 1,200 ft climb, within the designated time.
Medals are awarded to everyone who completes their chosen route within the designated time for their age category. Full details of age categories are Medal Standards can be found on our website www.moor2sea.com
The event supports two charities, Help for Heroes and the Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Ashburton).
Places are limited to 1000 and this event sold out quickly in 2012 so early registration is recommended if you want to avoid disappointment.
Sportive Photo will be the official photographers. There will also be a Sports & Remedial Massage service available. This is provided by The Massage Clinic (Exmouth).
