THE EVENT
Last year nearly 150 keen cyclists battled against the pouring rain and driving wind to take part in the 2nd running of the Rivington 100 Cycle challenge.
Travelling from as far afield as Hampshire, just to tackle what's fast becoming an infamously challenging event - riders had a choice of tackling either a 52 mile or 100 mile route, both starting and finishing in Horwich.
The Rivington 100, as the name suggests, is a 100-mile circular cycle challenge from Horwich Leisure Centre following the same route as the 2002 Commonwealth Games road race route through pretty Lancashire countryside, reservoirs
