There have been numerous cycle rides that have navigated their way down through Wales over the years, but none more challenging that the 222 mile Coast 2 Coast 24 hour extreme challenge.

The ride starts at Caernarfon on Saturday 12th July and finishes at Saudersfoot 24 hours later. The route takes you across Wales to its borders with England and back to within a few miles of the Ceredigion Coast. This is a rare opportunity to cycle some of the most challenging and beautiful roads in Wales and include:

Climb through Llanberis to Pen y Pas with the Snowdonia mountains in front, behind and on either side of you. Slate walls between you and the summit of Snowdon and Glyder Fawr and sheep worn down by years of enduring the extreme weather of the highest mountain range in Wales grazing the lush summer grass around you. Can you picture a better scene to ride your bike, well I can! Sign up today and you will to.

This 24 hour ride takes you on to Lake Fyrnwy positioned on top of a mountain above Bala. The climb to the lake is fitting for an extreme challenge! It is certainly not for the feint hearted and is best described as one of the toughest climbs in the UK. Later the route will take you over the Radnorshire hills before navigating the Elan Valley, where you will enjoy the outstanding natural beauty that the area has to offer.

Fear not, it is not all hard work! You will also be able to enjoy long periods of flat roads which adjoin the Tregaron bog that take you over to Lampeter, however enjoy the rest, for later the route takes you up and over the Preseli hills where the stones of Stonehenge were quarried, from here it is all down hill to the coast of Carmarthen Bay where the beautiful seaside town of Saudersfoot will be ready to welcome you.

We have commissioned Cycle-Tec of Builth Wells to manage the logistical support for the event, they will have two breakdown vehicles out on course ready to service your mechanical needs.

The ride will have designated feed stops providing you with all the nutrition you will need to enjoy and succeed in this challenge.

A recovery service will also be available for those who have to retire from the event.

A return coach transfer to Caernarfon is included to get you and your bike back to the start.

There are no hidden costs, we will provide everything for you, including all your food, hydration and transport costs, however the cost of repairs and parts etc will have to be met by you. We provide the facility, you pay for the service.

The cost to enter the ride is £250, however there is no cost to you if you raise £400 for Wales Air Ambulance by setting up a Just Giving Account.
