Welcome to the Bodmin Moor 100 Sportive.  Organised by the Tempus Leisure Events Team we are proud to continue the tradition of offering spectacular yet challenging Cycling Sportives in Cornwall.

Now in its seventh year this event has become well known as one of the most challenging sportives in the Country.  This year's event still offers riders the spectacle of the North Cornwall Coast and the short, mid and long distance routes will follow the same roads to the first feed station.

Short Route http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_2798946.html

Mid Route http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_3731825.html

Long Route http://gb.mapometer.com/cycling/route_3731819.html

We have changed the route slightly from last year and all riders will travel into the depths of Bodmin Moor.  Watch out for the Beast of Bodmin Moor.  The Beast is a black panther-like creature that is believed to inhabit the Moor. There have been about 60 sightings recorded in since 1983

You will ride on undulating roads towards the Historic Town of Wadebridge before edging towards the infamous North Cornwall Coast.  This is where the challenge begins.  You will need to keep a steady pace as you take in Port Quinn, Ports Isaac (where Doc Martin is filmed), Port Gaverne and Delabole before turning to the first feed station at Camelford

Short distance riders will now return to the event HQ via Bodmin Moor but watch out for Shell Wood climb.  This is a killer - steep and long.

Whilst the 45 mile Short Distance riders are on their way back to HQ the Mid and Long Distance riders will leave the feed station and again make their way back to the Atlantic Coast.   Here riders will visit Tintagel the legendary birthplace of King Arthur before tackling the long descent into Boscastle.  This is where the devastating floods took place in 2004.  The ascent out of Boscastle will test the legs before reaching the Mid and Long Distance split points at 43 miles

.

The 85 mile Mid Route riders turn right and Long Route riders turn left.  Don't make a mistake here.  Staying with the Mid Route you will cross the A39 Atlantic Highway so be careful here.  Now you'll be in Bodmin Moor country and will pass through Otterham, Egloskerry, Tregadillet, before skirting the World War Two aerodrome at Davidstow before returning to Camelford for a much needed feed station stop.  Enjoy the return leg back to the HQ.  You too will have to tackle Shell Wood

Those riders taking on the 104 mile Long Route deserve a medal.  Having turned left at the split point we intend to take you to High Cliff before dropping down to the Coast at Crackington Haven.  High Cliff is aptly named as these are the Highest Cliffs in Cornwall.  Hold onto the brakes for the descent into Crackington.  At 50 miles you're about half way and Milook will be on the horizon.  This is probably one of the most testing climbs in Cornwall - it is STEEP.  Compacts are recommended unless you want to walk.

After Milook you will only have seven miles to go before you reach the second feed station in Bude. Fuel up here as there is still 48 miles to the finish.  The return leg across Bodmin Moor will give a you a rest from all that climbing and if you've got enough gas in the tank it will be fast. Make your way to Week St Mary and North Petherwin before picking up the same route as the Mid riders at Egloskerry.  Enjoy the ride and keep something back for Shell Wood.

The Event HQ is based at the Dragon Leisure Centre in Bodmin and there will be ample car parking on site.
