Gran Fondo's are Italian themed mass participation recreational cycling events. Gran Fondos (which means "Big Ride" in Italian) are immensely popular in Europe, are open to recreational and competitive amateur cyclists; thousands of cyclists of all abilities participate. Just like in Italy, each Gran Fondo USA series event includes a mass start, challenging routes, well-stocked aid stations, mobile tech support, exclusive VIP activities, a consumer expo, and a post-ride Italian lunch. The Gran Fondo Colnago Philadelphia takes place on August 14th, and offers 31, 73, and 108 mile routes.
