Some specifics, the route was definitely of 2 halves, the first a trundle along lanes and double track, which finished at the drink station at the 20km mark, after which it turned into a wooded single-track blast, winding though the autumnal trees, fording puddles, hopping fallen debris, even the more sticky sections were an enjoyable challenge.
Signage - apart from the clown who walked out the Cricketers on the Saturday night and turned the sign around - oh how we all laughed after the fruitless trundle up lanes in the wrong direction - all sections were signed, though I would suggest they could have been a bit earlier, especially on actual road junctions - a few were only signed as you approached a right turn, with no warning given. Also, a small moan a lot of signs were on the apex of the turn, so difficult to spot until you were right on top of them. Small grips and nothing that should stop you from considering entering next year, but just something for the great team at Gorrick to consider for next time.

firstly the weather leading up to the event lots of rain making the course heavy going. On the day light rain and chilly along with 12 year old on his first official event, a challenging off road straight in the at 45k. Having puncture coming down a fast rocky road section. There was not a moment I didn't enjoyed, The whole event was fantastic. Well organised with more than I expected in the way of facilities. All in all properly best event I've ever encountered!! Looking forward to the next gorrick event.
