Access to the event and car-parking couldn't be simpler; straight off the M6 on to the M55 taking you straight to Blackpool Football Club and the vast array of car parking around the club. Start line car parking is only a very short distance from the finish venue at Stanley Park. It's Europe's most popular seaside resort so why not spend the weekend in Blackpool and around Lancashire. There's a massive choice of accommodation from the 4 star Big Blue through to Travelodge and B&Bs. Spend Saturday at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, see the tower, visit the Grundy Art Gallery, or dance the day away to the Wurlitzer at Blackpool's Tower Ballroom. Let's not forget the famous Blackpool Illuminations either! At over 10km long and using over 1,000,000 bulbs the Blackpool Illuminations are an awesome spectacle.

The long route of 115 miles takes in all of Lancashire's iconic cycling climbs with a total ascent of 2,500m and visits all 3 event feed stations. The 85 mile route misses out Nick of Pendle and Pendle Hill to bring the total climbing down to 1,500m and visits Longridge and Ashton Memorial feed stations. The shorter 60 mile route ascends Jeffrey Hill, with phenomenal views from the top. This route totals 800m of climb and visits Longridge feed station only. There's a route for all levels of sportive riding ability.

Iconic Climbs: Jeffrey Hill, Nick of Pendle, Pendle Hill, Waddington Fell, Trough of Bowland.

Panoramic views
The routes provide some of the best viewpoints across Lancashire. From the top of Jeffrey Hill, look north across the valley to Skyes Fells and Bowland. On a clear day from Hare Apple Tree Tower, you can see Blackpool Tower, Longridge Fell, and even the Lake District. From this spectacular viewpoint you can see the Ashton Memorial feed station ahead which beckons riders down off the moorland.

Start venue - Blackpool Football Club
Steeped in history, the re-developed Bloomfield Road ground is home to the 'Tangerines' or the 'Seasiders'. Founded in 1877, Blackpool Football Club is perhaps best known for Sir Stanley Matthews but their recent adventures in the Premier League and Ian Holloway's famous press conferences have made them everybody's favourite second team.  Blackpool FC provides an excellent venue for the start of these fantastic rides and provides an atmosphere similar to the start of the Wiggle Cheshire Cat.

Finish venue - Stanley Park, Blackpool
Stanley Park is a masterpiece of landscape design and historical splendour. Known as one of the regions finest parks and voted Blackpool's most favourite location, the three hundred and ninety acre park is a landmark in its own right, offering a magical blend of architecture, horticulture and recreation.

With a long finishing straight that brings you right up to the event village positioned around the splendid Art Deco restaurant, with views across the Italian Gardens and water fountain.

Feed stations
Longridge is the gateway to the Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is the second largest market town in the Ribble Valley.

Clitheroe Castle towers over Clitheroe, and is the smallest Norman castle in England set in 16 acres of landscaped gardens which also houses a museum.

The Ashton Memorial is set within Williamson Park and is a beautiful Edwardian folly that dominates the skyline of Lancaster and can be seen from the M6 motorway.

Partner Charity - Rising Star Fund

The Lancashire Rising Star Fund will ensure that young sportsmen and women and their families receive financial support to enable them to excel in their chosen sport. Interventions like this at such a crucial time can often be the difference between a young sports person continuing and achieving in their chosen sport or dropping out. The Fund will provide financial assistance to Lancashire's amateur able-bodied and disabled sportsmen and women and will focus on giving grants to young people aged between 12 - 24 years, from sports officially recognised by Sport England.
