Utterly brilliant route and organisation, only let down this year by my own over-preparation and over-cooking it early on resulting in severe cramp after 25 miles, ho hum!!

Third year doing it, will be back again next year!

Superb event.Very scenic yet fairly tough route with good climbs and rewarding descents. Not 1 to enter if you dont like climbing although not brutal.
Well marked route on really good surfaces, well marshalled and good back up.
Excellent feed stops,High 5 gels,bars,energy powders,home made cakes,bananas etc.
Best sportive ive done so far.
Plenty of parking at the start and a hot meal at the finish.
Will be back next year for definate.

A fantastic route through what is a very beautiful part of Wales. Weather will always be a bit dodgy in September but this just seemed to emphasise the nature of the terrain. The hot meaql provided at the end was most appreiciated, and the staff at the visitor centre also require a thnk you. Certainly will be back next year and would recommend to other cyclists.

I did the middle distance and loved it. I went out quite early and there was a lot of sheep and sheep shit on the roads which made the descents slow and a bit dangerous. Other than that a beautiful area to ride, some lovely, painful climbs and a great 46 mile route. Cant wait until next year.

Overall a very well run sportive. The out run to the first feed station was tought with lots of short sharp hills. There after came a short flat section before the Alpine style climbs kicked in. This was a course for a real climber :-) Would not recommend it for a 1st timer. The volunteers I met were very friendly and I will be back next year to claim those 37sec to get sliver!!

2nd time that I've rode this event and I find it one of the best about. Great welcome from Clive & his team, brilliant course & great grub afterwards.

For me this is the benchmark event and for a fair price at £20.

* Plenty of food and gels at the feeds.
* Marshalls at busy right turns
* No ridiculously steep climbs
* No silly rough surfaced roads
* Sensible circuit that does not ruin itself by trying to get to the magic 100 mile mark (as many do).

This is one of the very best sproives in Great Britain and certainly the best in Wales and England. Clive Powell and his team put on an event that is up there with the French Sportives. The route is stunning with fabulous scenery, grand reservoirs, tough ascents and sweeping descents, very fast if you got the skill and the bottle - very Paulo Savoldelli. Superb signage, great marshalls and feed staff - Just Do It. I know I will next year.

as with all sportives i often forget to check total ascent. it would be helpfull if marshals and somebody, anybody at the feedstations knew the total ascent.

overall, one of the best rides of the season.
