A ride to suite all abilities
- a 106k route with 1,452m of climbing is testing, but not extreme,
- a gentler 63k route with 630m of climbing.
- new for 2018 - 30k climbing 405m.
South Shropshire features some of the mostly beautiful cycling countryside in the country. Bordering the soft rolling country of Herefordshire to the south, and the dramatic climbs on the Shropshire/ Welsh border, it is ideal cycling terrain for those who want a challenge, and to enjoy the dramatic scenery.
All rides are British Cycling registered , and start in the historic town of Ludlow, overshadowed by its imposing 11th century castle.They take place on routes whch are well known to local cyclists, away from traffic and main roads.
The sportives will be fully supported with signposting, two (one for the 60k route) refreshment stops, first aid support,ride maintenance and a broom wagon. Food, medal and a bottle of beer for finishers. Rides will be manually timed.
The sportives are the main rides in Ludlow's Cycling Festival - with several other family orientated rides and activities such as local led rides ( for individuals and families), and other family entertainment.. In addition there will be food, cakes and refreshments.
The event is organised on behalf of by Macmillan Cancer Support who will benefit from all of the festival's proceeds.
