A great ride (61 miles for me). Great to climb Burrington Coombe and Cheddar Gorge but watch out for the cheeky little mur five miles from the finish! A nice selection of food at the stops; nanas, flapjack, fig rolls as well as the usual gels and energy drink.
Wet weather unfortunately meant lots of p*nct*res... Hardly the organisers fault, tho'.

Will deffo do next year and the Glastonbury Tour with a similar route looks appealing too.

Hard, very hard! I should have dropped to the standard route having waited out the thunderstorm and leaving late but felt good after getting over Cheddar in good form with the sun shining. The last climb was evil and ended up walking a lot of it suffering from cramps. Organisation was excellent and the course beautiful but the 30 miles added on to make up the epic distance felt exactly like they'd been added to make up the distance. Would heartily recommend the std course though!
