Fantastic event as usual, shame to see so many riders walking up hills and traffic trying to pass or run over riders passing the ones who had to walk.
That said fantastic effort for those who didn't give up as weather improved and was a sunny finish.

This is a lovely ride in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It's well organised, good food and appropriate stops. It's getting bigger though and like festivals I think there is probably an optimum number otherwise the course just becomes clogged up.still, another year and this event is developing really nicely. I did it in 2011 and missed it last year through illness. It's come on even in two years, and it was pretty good first time out.

I love this ride, despite being harder this year. New routes may put first timers off, however the web says "back with more bite" so we were warned!
Great medal as always, weather atrocious to start with hence 100 mile route cancelled, best foodstops, outriders brilliant (seen but not used by me thank god) marshalls brilliant too. I have done all 3 Lionhearts so far and will always come back.
Other Sportives should note how a relatively young event can change each year but still be brilliant. It has different variations each year to tease us. Truly amazing wit he best finish of any sportive full stop ( however could be tested by the Ride London on the Mall later this year).
many thanks to all for an outstanding event despite the weather today. The free bike wash was extremely busy but truly needed.
Sadly no Lionheart beer this year roll on 2014. Sign me up now!

one of the best, actually the best, run sportive I've riden. Signage spot-on. Marshalls in abundance around the route (maybe helped by cancellation of the 100mile ride?) on all spots of caution, traffic stopped to allow crossing in places, regular sightings of the outriders and mechanical support located at a couple of locations in addition to feed stops. Course in March was always going to be challenging if the weather took a turn for the worse. It did! On occassions I was envious of the mtb riders. Origibal medal at the end, great food as well, Highly recommend - well done guys.

A fantastic Sportive very well organised down to the last detail. Longleat House was a great place to have this event and next year I will bring the family as there is plenty to keep the family entertained while I do the event. The course was excellent taking all the best scenic routes and most of the course was on quiet roads. The feed stations were great I walked inside to get a cup of tea and I thought I had walked into a wedding reception. There was so much food the only thing missing was the wedding cake, plus we were right at the back of the ride. At all of the feed stations there was a bike mechanic to help you with all your bike problems, 29 miles in and one of my groups bike broke beyond repair, within 10 minutes a recovery van was with us and took him and his bike back to Longleat. Alfreds Tower, what can I say apart from it was very steep to walk up. As I got to the top I could not believe my ears and eyes. There was a group playing bag pipes all dressed up in their kilts, nice touch. Next year I expect Status Quo. At the finish at Longleat House I got my finish time and medal then over to the Event Village well not so much a village more a small town. With plenty of food and beer, an all round great event.

A superb event and they have taken it forward from last years very high benchmark with some minor positive changes, I haven't ridden a sportive that comes close to this one for organisation and quality of rider experience.

Not quite 100% because of the lack of loos and the change to the finishing straight - last years was truly awesome!

The route was very muddy in parts and perhaps a slight change in course wouldn't go amiss next year - miss out Witham Friary and Gare Hill as the lanes there are always muddy, and use some of the cracking lanes between Wincanton and Bruton to keep the mileage up and not have all the big climbs in the last third. Minor niggle though - I love this event and will be back again next year.

Brilliant course; great climbs - loved the timed section up Kingsettle Hill. Lots of enthusiasm from riders, organisers and marshals. Really helpful getting the timing chip, bike number etc in advance. Good food at the end. Didn't use the feed stations or need support en route but I'm sure they were as good as the rest of the organisation. Good value for a great day out. Back next year!

Great event yet again - perfect way to start the year. Full marks for doubling the size but maintaining the superb atmosphere (helped by the fantastic start/finish location at Longleat and the beautiful course) and the friendliness of the event as well as increasing the professionalism of the organisation. Special cheers for the feed stations: the cheeriest people staffing them and the best cakes ever! Roll on next year.

Great event, well organised, freindly staff and marshalls.Exceptional feed stations.
unfortunately lots of riders down to do the 100 miler did the 100 km ride so results are up for debate!!
Also not the organisers fault but the company that run legoland now run longleat and were expecting people who were picking up family post event to pay the £27 entry fee to the grounds.disgusting!! What a finish 45 mph down the descent to longleat. Will do it again next year.

This was my second year after completing the 100km ride in 2011 and the 100 mile ride this year and I would gladly ride it every year. Such brilliant organisation and staff ensuring that the day for the riders is stress free and they are well looked after. I can't complain about mud etc (other than it kept jamming up my front wheel). We live and ride in this beautiful countryside and amongst the rural community so it is to be expected and rule 5 applies. I love the route and the lumps. Very well sign posted and marshalled and where needed, extra marshalls were posted. The feed stations were well stocked and staffed by friendly volunteers. All in all a brilliant event. Just missed my goal of "Gold" standard by three minutes, but I can't blame the organisers for that one ....... Massive thanks to "Spin Events" and his very hard working team.

A great first event last year and this year it was bigger and better. Everything about this event is what you look for in a good sportive including the communication from the point of registering, great facilities, friendly staff, excellent route and scenery and a perfect finish. Highly recommended. Good work Rich and the team. See you next year. Hopefully...

This was a great event and its the first time that I have ridden it, I will be back next year. Any event needs feedback to develop, and here it is. There were not anywhere near enough toilets at the start for shall we say "quick" use, rather than a sit down! this caused a fairly large queue. I did the 100k and the spacing of the foodstops was a little strange. Finally I could not find a download of the route for the Garmin. However a great event which I will do again.
