Fantastic route, easily one of the best I've ridden. The high winds made for a significantly more challenging ride. Other than arrangements at Tan Hill and end, a superb event. It's more expensive than most sportives but it's all in a worthwhile cause.

I think the previous reviewer must have missed the Tan Hill feed station (46 miles) - after an hour or so of climbing into a brutal headwind a hot cup of coffee there was most welcome. The feed station at Stainforth also had tea and coffee. This was a fantastic event, all the marshals and food station volunteers were awesome. The food stations were well stocked with bananas, sarnies, cake and other bits as well as much needed energy drink. Shame about the headwind, but that's the risk with this course, it is beautiful, but tough and exposed in places. Highly recommended, this was my first time and I'll definitely be back.

Fantastic ride, not as hard as the Fred, but the weather made it feel as hard. Feed station spacing is not ideal, the first one is too soon (before Butter Tubs) @ 30 miles, and the second is too far @ 65 miles, which after Tan Hill seemed an age away. There were no hot drinks either- a nice cup of tea would have been welcome. Overall, though an brilliant ride, very well organised and for a charity that I support wholeheartedly. Many thanks to the organisers.

Probably one of the best sportives in terms of scenery but the event was marred for us this year due to a chaotic start with a 45 min wait (fortunately in good weather), food stations that had no food left when needed the most (at Tan Hill) and no medical support or recovery after crashing at the ford. I know riders have to take personal responsibility but I think the marshalling could have been a little clearer here as I came off when a rider in front of me also slipped and was then told a number of other riders had also fallen so think all riders should then have been directed to dismount and would strongly advise riders to do so in future. Other than that would still recommend the ride for the challenge and the fanastic scenery and quiet roads.

Cracking event and this is the 5th time I've ridden it which speaks for itself when I live in Stratford-upon-Avon some 3-4 hrs away! 2nd year in a row where the weather behaved itself and this makes a massive difference, especially up on those hills!!!!

Fantastic event, would highly recommend anyone to do it. Couldn't give 100% due to no route cards as promised and needed one extra sign near the end, quite a few riders went slightly wrong but this didn't add ant distance on.

A very tough but very rewarding 110miles. Really appreciated the hot shower at the end and the friendliness of the organisers and marshalls and the folk at the feedstops. Definitely do it next year and hopefully the weather will be better. Disappointed with all the litterbugs discarding their gels along the route

Marshalls and support - fantastic, route- superb; in fact the organisation was faultless....but the riders!!!???.....was it 'cause of the weather or are sportive cyclists usually this unfriendly (I did meet a few who seemed fairly personable....all Northerners strangely enough!)......all a bit too serious for my liking and as for the litter along the course?!...don't get me started.

First time in this event. Fantastic experience & will definitely ride the event again. Pretty dreadful weather but this is the UK so you take what comes. A big thanks to all involved in organising & running such a great sportive.

Brilliant event. Worth every penny of the entry fee regardless of the good cause. Organisation team remained cheerful despite the foul weather conditions and made it a thoroughly enjoyable occasion. Well done everyone!

Good Lord that was a hard ride - cold wet and miserable, but I'm already planning my trip back.

Sign on was quick and easy, as were the timing chips which meant that a split time and certificate was handed out immediately at the finish. HQ was warm and food was hearty - great to see a Sportive with shower facilities. As always, Yorkshire folk get a tough rep from southerners but the EdD team were friendly and welcoming to all

The course makes the event, but please can we have some better weather next time?

Having done the Maratona and La Ventoux last year this event definitely matches up as far as toughness is concerned! A brilliant day out in amazing scenery. The event had a really friendly "club" feel with loads of club riders taking part in contrast to lots of events which seem to be descending into a "look at my new Rapha kit" parade with riding manners/skills to match! Really friendly riders and marshals, great food at the finish with the hot shower making the drive back to Sussex a lot more comfortable! Many thanks, I wil be back.

PS the T shirtis great and is always preferable to a medal

Had a great day and met some really nice people. Struggled a bit with my chest infection, but wasn't allowing it to spoil the day. Just missed out on 7hr time, next year.
