These events are too expensive for some very young riders, although this events is expensive for me since moving home, it is worth rising at 04.00. Camaraderie is good and I find everyone good to talk to and helpful, the feed stations cater for all dietary requirements, for example many London to Paris tour operators don't, sadly.
If you have not taken part in this event, may be next year, regardless of your abilities etc - I am sure you will enjoy the day in Kent.For improvement, I would prefer the lunch stop [which as usual is second to none - helpers, facilities and food] just over the halfway mark

However that shouldn't detract from this wonderful put together ride. It's testing and keeps predominantly away from busy and main roads. A lot more difficult in the way out than in the way in, but you won't find me complaining about that.

I have done this ride with friends for the last 6 years. Everything about the organisation is excellent and makes for a fantastic day out on the bike. The lunch is well catered for and has a good selection of vegetarian dishes. Signage is comprehensive and the on route support is reassuring. registration, start and finish is well organised and there is ample parking.

2011 Event well organised, a better route than when I rode it in 2008, although most of the descents were on horrible road surfaces and you never seemed to get the reward for all the climbing. No toilets at the last feed station (a rarity for AMR events) was not good. Great atmosphere at the finish with entertainment laid on.
