Rating: Rate this Event Now

This beautiful county is becoming ever more rider friendly and has some absolutely stunning countryside and breath-taking coastal views.

Three wonderful routes take in a variety of Suffolk's best scenery, from forest and coast to quiet countryside lanes. Whether you're a seasoned spinner, or just enjoy cycling on a weekly basis there's a route for you!

We've decided to start the Suffolk 100 from the county's reigning "Most Active Town", Kesgrave. Situated on the edges of Ipswich, The HQ, Kesgrave Community and Conference Centre is not only easily accessible by road and rail but also offers riders virtually traffic free access to the wonderfully quiet country roads this sportive has to offer.

Online pre-entry allows you to get this event in your diary and is the easiest way to secure your place. Numbers are limited for this event and you will be saving yourself an admin fee if you enter on-line rather than paying on the day. On-line pre-entry will also allow you to turn up on the day and just collect your entry pack without the hassle of filling in forms, registering and queuing up.

We may have to close registration on the day if the event reaches its capacity so it is best to pre enter on-line to avoid disappointment.

45 Miles:

The route will still take you though the ancient woodlands of Suffolk's area of outstanding natural beauty. Anyone looking to get involved in the suffolk 100 but hasn't quite got the legs for the longer routes, this is for you.

63 Miles:

The 63 mile route will take you further out onto the quiet roads of Suffolk's abundant forest, crossing the River Alde and heading along the coast from Aldeburgh to Thorpness. The stunning route then turns left and follows some lovely rolling hills along picturesque country lanes back to Kesgrave.

100 Miles:

Ride through picturesque woods and get some refreshing sea air from the coast line as you continue north through the Coast Nature Reserve towards Southwold. A left turn will take you west through quiets lanes with rolling countryside views, across the River Waveny. Finally, you'll spin those pedals and head south, encountering some gentle but rewarding inclines as you head back to HQ.

Suffolk 100 Routes:

All three routes head out from kesgrave towards the coast, where the long and medium routes get a taste of the seaside breeze courtesy of Aldeburgh, where the coastal view may tempt you in for a quick dip after you have tasted some of the homemade flapjacks at our much talked about feed stops.

The long route then branches off towards the famous Dunwich Forest, where the quiet, tranquil lanes will allow you to hear the zip of your deep section rims, as they cut through the summer air.

From 55 miles in the long route will start seeing a few rolling hills and will quickly realise Suffolk is not as flat as it was supposed to be. Anyone on the medium and short routes that have fallen asleep will also be awoken with a few surprises for the legs at 20 miles to go. All routes see the last feed stop at 18 miles to go, where you are advised to pick up a banana or gel for the last push, or relax with a cracker and cheese while you psych yourself for the return.

Although this is a non-competitive event, we realise that riders like to know what times they have achieved for their distances chosen, and what this times equates to in terms of the Gold, Silver and Bronze standards.
