Come and join Dave Lloyd ( on the Costa Blanca for a brilliant week of training in and around the Marina Alta mountains as featured on several days in the 2009 Vuelta. This is a terrific opportunity to ride with, and get coaching from, one of Britains best ever cyclists and one of our most highly qualified coaches. You will enjoy a week of guided riding in the company of Dave while getting his unique insight into what you can do to become a better rider.

"Denia is unbeatable as a training location and the hotel is ideal, very comfortable and plenty of great food. This will be my third year working with John Fegan who always goes out of his way to make sure everyone has a fantastic time. " - Dave Lloyd.

You are coming to the best bike-riding roads in Europe, an area that the pro teams flock to every winter to get ready for the season ahead. With Dave alongside you, your endurance and climbing technique are bound to benefit while the many and varying descents will allow you to fine tune the technical skills required for safe and fast descending.

There will be talks each evening on different aspects of cycling and how to improve your performance as well as special afternoon skills sessions on the bike.

Who is it for:

Dave has a real diversity of athletes on his books, in ability and in age - the one thing they all have in common is a desire to improve. If you have that drive, that passion then this training camp is for you.

During the week we will split the riders into two or possibly three groups based on where your current fitness level is and at what intensity you are wanting to train at. The faster group will complete most days at an average speed of around 28-32 kmph, the second group will average around 23-26 kmph. Remember our terrain varies from hilly to very hilly which greatly impacts the speed that is maintainable over a 100 km + ride.

To enjoy the camp you will need to arrive with a reasonable level of fitness and an ability to ride for 4-5 hours per day. There will be stops for water, snacks and coffee and vehicle support if required.

If you are a beginner or looking for a more relaxed week of cycling please consider a Train in Spain ( cycling break or a Base Camp as an alternative.
