The DC is a must. Fantastic organization, great route, superb views over the moors and properly challenging climbs to match the super quick descents.

A brilliant event. A year ago I could only manage the Deb route at 35 miles. This year I got a silver at the medio. Maybe try the grande next year. This event really encourages you to cycle more.

A fantastic event! Registration can be on the day or the previous afternoon. The free fun bike area provided at the event centre on both days is great fun both for your children and any participants wanting to have a go at riding reverse steering bikes, penny farthings etc.
Superbly signed and marshalled, Great feed station with quality food, not the rubbish served up at some events.
The routes are tough and designed to be so, so please don't enter this event and then whinge about too many hills, narrow roads and the weather. This is high moorland that sees the worst that the Atlantic can throw at it. Yes it was a bit windy but anyone who knows Dartmoor will confirm that this year the weather was pretty kind to us. Medal standards are high and get higher as the distance increases. Anyone getting a gold on the Grande will have done some serious preparation which in my view is how it should be. Something to aspire to, not a micky mouse medal. The nature of this event is made abundantly clear on the
The only disappointment for me was no tee shirt this year
Fun, friendly, challenging, well organised, tough. If Carling did Sportives..........

A wonderful event despite the windy conditions for my 6th time of doing the Classic. This is the sportive that all others aspire to be, and I think this is down to the location, but also the fact that it is still an independently run event by volunteers. The passion is still there which others lack.
I have no bad words to say about it, other than my legs are never good enough! But this definitely has to be on the bucket list!!

Great but very tough ride on the Grande route made harder by the strong winds. Very professional throughout the day and so good to have this on my doorstep. Marked the feed stops only 8 but assume they were good but I didn't stop in them, only Sportive where your medal is the colour of your time. So kept going having stocked myself up at the start with food and drink. Excellent KOM on closed road. Finish venue brilliant though some outlets a bit pricey for drinks etc.
Excellent standard of marshaling the whole way round. This Sportive is a great example of keen cyclists via a club organize and put on a show for us to enjoy and not for company profits. Not least Dartmoor in the sun is to die for despite the tough hills.
If there is one Sportive to do then this is it.
