Signs were very poor, got lost 4 times and had to do 10 miles extra. Food stops needed some savory food rather than pure sugar.

Otherwise very good.

A brilliant event after any number of years, but to achieve such high standards on the first one-everyone involved should be congratulated.
Only couple of items to consider for next years event. The first would be signage. Not clear enough. But I know the organisers are well aware of this and have already taken steps to improve for 2014. Secondly the last feed stop was off route, only slightly, but would have caused confusion had I not know my way around. Showers at the HQ would be a bonus.
The team running the event were outstandingly helpful. The semi closed roads for the first few miles was like being a pro.
I will be back in 2014 for sure!

Parking = Massive and secure. The HQ (Magna Centre) was like walking into a 5 star hotel for sign in with friendly Team CF ladies everywhere, they even had 2 guys welcoming people at the door. My number and goody bag took 30secs to collect. Large sheltered area out front to congregate/chat and socialise (often missing in sportives) added to the chilled out social atmosphere. Quick check of tyre pressures by Planet X mechanical support then a full field roll out with lead car and closed junction. A bit like a tour de france stage when they are in the neutralised bit and chatting. The route itself was pure joy with shady lanes, rolling roads and some steep stuff . The Team CF guys came alongside for a quick chat to see they were OK and enjoying it. The signage needs tweaking at some junctions to keep it all together, I was told this would be sorted for the 2nd event next year where someone told me they are expecting 1000 riders. I have no doubt they can cope with that number. The roads a few miles form the end were rough in parts but that's the same everywhere these days I think. Enter quick for 2014, a great day out. It just had the feel of a big ticket event in the making. And its all for charity so you know your efforts are valiant!

Excellent event. Really well organise. Just 2 small complaint about signs been in yellow and not easy to see which way the arrow pointed. Black would be better for next year. Also 1 or 2 of the farm tracks we went down had slurry on them not very nice to take my 5 grand bike down. That's probably me been really picky. Altogether though the organisers should take great pride in what they pulled off to such a high standard. Much better than well established sportive's I've been on previously. Thanks for a great day!

Amazing views and iconic roads. A very challenging sportive before you actually got to Holme Moss. It's the first time up it in almost ten years and although I haven't missed it I'll definitely be back next year. Incidently my sister and her husband rode the shorter 47 mile route on a tandem. That is a feat in itself on a still very demanding course. Tea CF did us sll proud in what is amazingly their first event! Full marks.

Fantastic event - well organised, great route and scenery and took in the iconic Holme Moss climb. At 65 miles not as long as some I have done but with around 6000ft of climbing a tough but rewarding challenge. I for one will be back again next year and with the hope of improving my time!

Had a great time and really enjoyed it. quality of the roads in the area has a lot left to be desired but didnt distract from the overall quality of the event. Was my first ever sponsored cycling event. as a patient of CF meant a lot to me so a big thank you to all those who helped organize the event.

An excellent event - very well designed, managed and organised.
Absolutely stunning beautiful scenery - some nice challenging hills to climb, and well signposted. Drink stations were spot on.... just right distance, well stocked and very nice people supporting the riders. I will 1000% be doing this again next year as well as getting my friends to do it. - well done all concerned.

the signage needs to be bigger-and the direction arrow should be say yellow with a red arrowhead-you had to be very near to see left or right as they were all yellow-overall a great event and hopefully much bigger entry next year-the climbs on the long route were challenging but do-able A compact setup would be useful for many :)
