A brilliant sportive, which had everything you could wish to get out of a days cycling. Glorious scenery, cracking climbs and descents, spot on weather and a great friendly atmosphere.
The organisation, marshalls including medical support and volunteers were superb.
The only thing that could have made it even better would have been a compulsory ice cream at Reeth... Ha Ha!
Next years date is in the diary, looking forward to it already.

The 5 Dales is a fantastic event that should not be missed it offers stunning scenery as good as anything in the UK, tough hills and super descents with lovely sausage rolls on route and all for a small fee .It run by Richmond CC as a club event and it is such value for money you would daft to miss it I love it and have done this event for the last 9 years as well as many others in the UK and is one of the best I have ever done . All sportives should be run like this brilliant

An excellent event in an absolutely stunning location. A great combination of quiet roads and fabulous scenery. Organisation and signage were first class. Great preparation for the Etape du Tour and a bargain at the price.

Brilliant event, well worth the journey from Anglesey. Richmond is a beautiful base as a start. The event runs through scenic landscape and obviously has some epic climbs and descents. Luckily we 2015 entrants had cracking cycling weather, with no wind and wall to wall sunshine, without it being too hot ! Well worth the trip to come and do it !

Woods full of wild garlic and bluebells, waterfalls, wild moorland, limekilns and fieldbarns, a castle, a couple of Tour de France KOM ticks, some graunchy climbs, usually followed by long, safe, glorious, swooping descents. Just spectacular scenery. Doing this sportive felt like getting a local to guide you through the best bits, which I guess is exactly what it was.

Heard my first cuckoo of the year whilst i was fixing a puncture...

From an organisational point of view everything went swimmingly.
Any improvements? Isotonics and suncream at the feed stations would've been welcome, but fair enough if they've been sacrificed to keep this event at the affordable end of the spectrum. Some sort of secure bike parking at the school (where the meal was served at the end of the ride) would have put my mind at rest that nobody was going to nick my bike off the back of my car while i ate.

Would definitely do again.

Great Event, thoroughly enjoyed it. Attended with 3 friends that have never done a Sportive before, worried now that you have set the bar very high for future events!

This is a great event: challenging routes on quiet roads. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would have scored 11 out of 10 for Friendliness and The Course, if it were an option!. Many thanks to the organizers.

A great day on the bike, tough but lovely course and a pleasure to ride. A truly well organized event and a good value price. Why carnt the big boys keep the prices the same.

This is a brilliantly organised event. This years Tour de France edition route was a significant cahllenge. Even if the TdF route is not repeated, the normal route is tough as well. If you cannot get in or want to do something on a par with the "Fred", then head to Richmond next year, you will not be disappointed.

The 118mile sportive was an excellent course with several challenging sections. The course, organisation, feed stations, supporters were perfect, however the weather wasn't...
Don't let the weather ruin your ride, at this time of year full finger waterproof gloves, full length tights, long sleeves and waterproof jacket recommended.
I would ride this again without hesitation, just a bit more prepared for the elements next time! Despite it being 14 degrees and slightly overcast at the start, it can deteriorate pretty bad over a few hours.

Fantastic event. Roads were perfect, quiet and well surfaced. The course was a true challenge. The only complaint is the flap jack at the feed stations were too big I couldn't eat a whole one.
