This was my first Cake Quest and I shall be back for seconds and more. This event puts many to shame and I thoroughly enjoyed it (perhaps beacause of rather than despite the appalling weather). I added 5km to my route by following another event's signs in error (happens with more and more sportives going on), but the whole thing from the timing system to the medals and the team mopping the floor around sodden riders filling themselves with fine and plentiful cake was what made a great day.

Really great event with very enthusiastic marshals and other helpers. Plenty of food. Only one sign missing and that was replaced when we reported it at the next food stop. Could have done with a bigger hall - especially as we were all soaked and freezing at the end. I couldn't find anywhere to sit, which was not good with my legs like jelly. Excellent timing. Very good selection of refuelling products at the food stops. Cyclosport have displayed last year's results as this year's though.

I did Carrot Cake (110k) route and it was a lovely route with some challenging hills but some nice flat sections for respite. Parking was very close and well marshalled. Registration ran smoothly with helpful staff. Chip timing was good. 3 feed stations although one had run out of cheese/ham rolls when we arrived there. Fabulous array of cakes/rolls at the finish though. Medal for everyone and superb, printed certifcate including time along with a cake recipe at finish. An all round great event and will definitely come back!
