The *only* thing that let it down in my eyes was that the bacon butty trailer that was due at the start was involved in an RTA the night before - I was nearly bonking by the first feed stop.

First timer on this event. Very tough because of the ammount of climbing, but extremely enjoyable. Fantastic route and spectacular scenery. The organisers promote this as NOT a Sportive - that is its attraction and the entry fee also reflects this. Who needs "energy foods" at the stops (the food actually provided was fine), and a cr@p "goody bag"? The unique slate plaque was far more significant and special! Thanks Merseyside CTC. I will be back next year.

The not so good.
Inadequate toilet facilities at all stops with one to two urinals/bowls between 700+ riders. More food at the organised stops would have been better.

If your new to this you will like this, don't be afraid to take a saddle bag with you - for food and wet clothes, although I've not punctured to date they seem to go in threes - I take 4 + patches a C02 pump and a proper pump too, I hope this info helps
