The organisation was very slick, the route excellent and the route marking the best I've seen (including impromptu diversions required that were beyond the organisers control). The feed stations were all very well organised and really well stocked with a wide variety of tasty food.

A tough but top day out that I would recommend to who is up for it.

I have done lots of events overseas and a couple of suggestions that may enhance the overall event?
I was surprised there was not a cycle shop/dealer with a stall at the registration or start a good chance to sell gear and promote their shop, maybe also gain some sponsorship.
The road at the finish would have benefitted from a short road closure surely given the people it brings to Whitby it is not unreasonable.
The finish was well organised and a relief to see!!! How about some restrictions on access on the path at the last 30metres as little kids were crossing the path a couple of times they nearly got in the way of cyclists heading through the finish. Lastly it would be nice to be able to buy a tee shirt (raise funds)

All small items on a tremendous and well organised event............thanks to Open Cycling for a great day, regards

My first sportive and it was brilliantly organised, everything ran extremely smoothly and was so easy to follow, which I can only put down to the people who ran it! Fantastic job everyone!

Very good sportive - Save some energy for the last 20 miles of undulation into Whitby. Some possible extra arrows for turning points - possibly two arrows before, 1 after on the correct route & 1 "X" after the turn on the wrong route incase people miss the turnm off and contimue along the wrong road ?

I've done a few like this but this was the best yet. Highly recommend this. The route was stunning....with a bit of sting in the tail but I'm over it leaving only the emotional scars. Many thanks to the team.

A FANTASTIC ride. A truly wonderful experience that was really well-organised from start to finish. Tasty and very well-stocked feed stations, a tough but achievable route with some great climbs and a trip through some of the loveliest parts of the country. Everyone involved was really supportive. I'd definitely do the ride again!

An excellent event. Logistics are always going to be complex on a point to point event but was made as easy at it coud be. Excellent proper food - that's what you nee3d on a long ride, not gels etc. Good value for money

Great day (albeit a long one!) Everyone involved were v friendly. At least the weather had the decency to hold off on Hardknott/Wrynose! Looking to use a stopwatch for timing next year rather than a calendar.. ATB KO

I have done all the major sportives including the Fred for the last 3 years and this is was probably the best organised,The open cycling staff were fantastic, the route superb and the feed stations were stocked with everything you needed (including home made chilli on the last one)with 4600 m of climbing and in the end 148 miles it was a major challenge even harder than the Fred and even included harknott ,wrynose passes. To me the entry fee was worth every penny, and there was a cheap shuttle transfer service which was also superb.
Well done Open Cycling a 5 star event organised by 5 star people

Great event over a fantastic route. The weather added to the challenge. It would be even better on a english summers day.

The most enjoyable of the many sportives I've done. Great route, with some vicious climbs compensated for by miles of easy gradual descent, particularly through the Yorkshire Dales, impeccable signage and logistics and exceptionally friendly and helpful organisers. And a largely following wind too...
