The route is lumpy but no hard climbs, the run South along the western seaboard of Ireland is beautiful but expect the prevailing winds to object to your progress! Closed roads events are rare and make this a very special and fast route. Looking forward to being back next year.

Overall i really enjoyed the day, but it was my first cycling event so hard for me to compare. Closed roads made it really unique though, and the route was fantastic. However, I must sat that the food stops were not good, particularly the last couple considering approximately 1400 people competed when up to 2000 were expected. The t-shirt for which i paid €20 for was poorly designed, it could at least have had the year on it, and the goody bag was laughable. I had no problem with the entry fee, but felt that in exchange for this, the goody bag could have been a bit more worthwhile.
