First ever sportive so didn't know what to expect, but it exceeded any expectation that I had. Great day, can't wait for next year's already!

A value for money down to earth sportive, dismiss the Epics 60mile course at your peril. If there's a flat section then I'm sorry but I missed it, the climb to Penrhys is all but a warm up for the final onslaught from Pontypridd through to Maerdy mountain top. An apparently seamless debut on the sportive scene.

Incredibly well organised especially as it was the first time for this event.
Marshals were very supportive and gave the event a great friendly atmosphere.
Well done to the 'Bicycle Doctor'

Easily on a par with the Dragon Ride, fiendishly concentrated course with heaps of spectacular scenery. I found all of the staff and marshals spot on: friendly and encouraging to the last. I loved the #ShutUpLegs and #Stinking signs - made me laugh out loud as much as the descents. Well done to all who partook and organised - I will be up for the epic next year.

A well run event from online entry through to the finish line, for a first time event you couldn't ask for more! Signing on was a breeze and the free T shirt in the goody bag was top quality. I thought the route was very challenging but very well thought out, with some real testing climbs thrown in! The on route marshals were very enthusiastic and encouraging with the band at the finish topping the day off. Will be entering the 2014 event for sure!

This was a fab event , really we'll organised, expertly signposted and marshalled with plenty of encouragement offered all the way round. Sensibly priced with excellent facilities at the start/finish. Definitely recommend and will be back next year. How about reversing the route for next year, Tour de France style !

Outstanding event, for the first Valleys Vello, this was truly spectacular! The hard work and dedication of the organisers, marshalls, volunteers & police made this event 'Top Notch'! The riders 'dug in' and suffered together through the climbs and really put in all the effort. This is definitely an event to look out for, if this year is anything to go by then look out 2014!!!

Outstanding event, From everything from the course to the marshals. Very challenging route and probably more challenging the the dragon ride even though the route was some 60miles shorter. Would chose this event over the dragon ride every year. The timing was really good as you got a print out at the finish line of your time, cannot praise the organisers enough :)

Can't wait for next year, bigger and better if that's possible ;)

Very tough but an Amazing route, of BIG hills and long descents, captured in clear alpine-esk weather conditions......not the typical valley weather.
Every competitor doing the event was going through there own world of pain, which was empathised and respected by all riders and the fantastic loud support cheering us through the valleys by the locals and marshals.
Also love the '#shutlegsup' signs which made me smile knowing the person putting it their obtain great satisfaction knowing that a wall of Tarmac rising into the clouds was around the next corner.
Brilliant event!
