The classic freshnlo Pedal for Scotland ride, the challenge ride is now in its 15th year. The 47 mile Glasgow to Edinburgh ride is Scotland's biggest bike ride and attracted 8,000 participants last year. The freshnlo Pedal for Scotland Sportive covers 100 miles from Glasgow to Edinburgh. The route takes riders through the Southern Uplands and down into Edinburgh passing through seven local authorities and incorporating the best sections of numerous Scottish cycle racing circuits.

The second of our Challenge sportives, this is an iconic ride that takes in remote car free roads over some of the toughest climbs in the area. The heart pounding route takes our riders over well known ascents including Malham Cove, Park Rash and the highest road on Yorkshire, Fleet Moss. You'll cover 11,000ft of climbing on the long route, but there is a half route available for those who want to see the breath-taking views without travelling 99 miles.

Entrants have a choice of 130kms or 80kms routes. In both events riders will be given a time based on age and gender and can try for a gold, silver or bronze standard. All riders are given an electronically operated tag to wear and their times are recorded as they pass under the finsh banner. However it is not a race and entrants have the choice of riding as slow or as fast as they wish. The route follows quiet roads and is clearly arrowed or marshalled.
